You know, I've got a love/hate relationship for Utah. The state is a picturesque marvel.
But the people... let's just say they're up there with Alaskans and Canadians, you know what I mean? I don't know if it's the polygamy or the inadequate alcoholic levels of their beer but the people are just plain Weird... with a capital "W". So, I was kind of surprised to see Utah join the 21st century by embracing technology.
Have you heard about this thing called "Twitter"? All the cool kids are doing it. Apparently, it's a place where people can express themselves, in 140 characters or less. From the most mundane musings like "Eating a sandwich" to the most profound "My wife thinks I'm stupid for using Twitter so much. But I think she's stupid for marrying me, so I think we all know who won this argument", tweeters spill their beans into the internet wilderness. And now Utah has joined the fracas by tweeting their two cents. This came when Utah's Attorney General Mark Shurtleff announced in less than 140 characters the execution of convicted murderer Ronnie Lee Gardner via Twitter. So, glad to see Utah really latch on to modern ways of the world even if it's the result of using an execution method that hasn't been used in 14 years.
